The Baksı Museum in Bayburt is hosting two new exhibitions featuring works by Zeki Demirkubuz and American artist Mike Berg. The exhibitions will be open to visitors until October 30.
Two exhibitions bringing together different artistic disciplines have opened at the Baksı Museum. Works by director, screenwriter, and producer Zeki Demirkubuz—specifically his photographs—and pieces by Mike Berg are now on display for art lovers.
DIVERSE GEOGRAPHIES THROUGH DEMİRKUBUZ’S LENS
Zeki Demirkubuz’s exhibition, titled "The Best Pose in Life and Photography Is Struck by the Lonely," features photographs taken across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Focusing on people and slices of life from various geographies, these works are presented to visitors as a selection independent of Demirkubuz’s cinematic career.
Regarding the exhibition, Demirkubuz stated, "I hope everyone finds something that resonates with their own personality and world."
MIKE BERG’S EXHIBITION: "STRIPPED OF THEORY"
American artist Mike Berg is also featured at the Baksı Museum with an exhibition titled "Stripped of Theory" (Kuramdan Arınmış). In his works, which are shaped around kilims (flat-woven rugs), the relationships between line, space, surface, and volume take center stage.
Created using loops and knots, the artworks blend two-dimensional and three-dimensional visual elements.
OPEN TO VISITORS UNTIL OCTOBER 30
Baksı Museum Founder Prof. Dr. In his opening remarks, Hüsamettin Koçan stated that they attach great importance to bringing art to wider audiences and aim to blend local values with a universal artistic perspective.
Demirkubuz and Berg also expressed their pleasure at having their works presented to visitors at the Baksı Museum.
The two exhibitions, which opened to the public following an event attended by local officials, artists, academics, institutional representatives, and art enthusiasts, will remain on view until October 30.
